NEW YORK (Oct. 1, 2010) — The About Group, a part of The New York Times Company, received two WebAwards from the Web Marketing Association during its 14th annual WebAwards competition. About.com received the 2010 Publishing Standard of Excellence Award and ConsumerSearch.com received the 2010 Shopping Standard of Excellence Award. These awards mark the fourth consecutive year in which the About Group has won a WebAward.

The About Group Web sites were among more than 2,000 Web sites reviewed in over 45 countries and 96 industry categories for the 2010 competition. Entries were judged on design, copy writing, innovation, content, interactivity, navigation and use of technology.
In 2009, About.com received the Best Publishing Web site award, About.com’s health Web site received the Health Care Standard of Excellence Award and ConsumerSearch.com received the Outstanding Web site Award.
