NEW YORK (Jan. 13, 2011) – About.com has opened the nomination period for its fourth annual, and greatly expanded, Readers’ Choice Awards honoring the best products, features and services across more than a dozen categories, ranging from technology to hobbies to parenting and more. Beginning today through February 4, readers can nominate their favorite can’t-live-without-it product or service, such as the best ski shop, facial moisturizer or instant messaging client. Finalists, as selected by About.com category experts, will then advance to the final round of voting, which will take place February 11 to March 8, 2011. The winners in each category will be announced on March 15, 2011.
“About.com’s Readers’ Choice Awards provide users with a chance to voice their opinions about the best products across some of the most popular categories,” said Margot Weiss, managing editor, About.com. “With the addition of more than a dozen new categories this year, we are looking forward to increased user participation and to seeing who this year’s winners will be.”
The recipients of the Readers’ Choice Awards will have the unique opportunity to display the coveted About.com Readers’ Choice Awards badge on their Web site.
For the first time this year, the About.com 2011 Readers’ Choice Awards categories include: autos, careers, cities & towns, entertainment, food & drink, health, hobbies, home & garden, parenting, people, religion, sports, style andtravel, in addition to previous categories for computing & technology and electronics & gadgets.
